Saying no to Yahoo! Go
Even though I spent more than a year working on the marketing site for Yahoo! Mobile, now that I have a Centro, I have absolutely no desire to install the application or use Yahoo!’s services. Google Maps is preinstalled on my phone (I prefer it to Yahoo! Maps anyway), I don’t use Yahoo! Mail or Messenger, and I sure don’t need news or traffic or stock quotes pinging me every few minutes. If I lived in another climate I might find use for a weather application, and if I was a hardcore Flickr user maybe I’d want mobile access. About the only thing that I might ever use would be the eBay widget, but I’m so rarely in a heated bidding war that I don’t see the need to keep up-to-the-minute tabs on my auctions.
Funny to go back to a website you used to work on and see the changes - sort of like visiting your old elementary school, in a way. It’s strange to think of something that used to be such a big part of your life going on without you.
