Hilarious but NSFW: Justin Timberlake on SNL: Dick in a Box.

Funny: Via Tero: Border Fence Firm Snared for Hiring Illegal Workers.

Viral advertising is not always done incorrectly (hilarious comic). It is done correctly sometimes.

On the other hand, Sony's regular advertising has been kind of brain-damaged lately anyway, so for them to botch a more subtle form of advertising is no surprise.

Funny, and all too accurate even though this is from about 15 years ago: Carlin: We Are a Warlike People.

Cool: FLYING YOUR AIRPLANES: amazing indoor model plane aerobatics (from Hans).

Scary: Discovery of dazed stowaway grounds flight - a man breached airport security at RDU by climbing over the fence and walking onto a plane. Fortunately he was apaprently just a total dumbass, not a guy with a bomb. Unfortunately, and probably more importantly, a total dumbass was able to bypass airport security.

Funny: Accu-Terror Forecast.

I have a new blog that's just for music stuff, called Beyond Puddin'. It's based on WordPress so you can subscribe to that RSS feed if you want to know what's going on in my musical life, hear works in progress, etc.

So far, I'm very very impressed with WordPress. I'll eventually migrate this blog over to WP, but I have to go back to the old posts and put them in my hand-done XML format (which is very simple, and works fine for minimal needs, but is nowhere near as feature rich as WP) so that I can import it.

As of now, my main Amazon Wish List is cleaned out and up to date. If you wanna buy me something from my wish list for Christmas, I encourage you to buy one of those CDs used through Amazon (their "used & new" zShops feature has worked well for me in the past), or to use Cheap CDs, and save a buck. I won't be insulted or anything if I get a used CD that isn't in shrink wrap.

I bought a new guitar: a lovely Ibanez RG350DX. I don't play much guitar, and I haven't played guitar in a band since 2002, but I'm writing lately and I'd hate to have to play this ugly thing on stage... or in a studio, or in front of anybody, really. The new one is pretty, easier to play, and sounds better. And I got it for $227.50, which is just a bit more than half price. Gotta love eBay.

I forgot what a pain it is to tune a guitar with a Floyd Rose style bridge and tremolo system. Fortunately there are instructions online but it took a good while to get the thing tuned and set up reasonably well, and I'll probably need to take another whack at it later to get the action really right. For now, it's at least tuned and playable, and it sounds pretty darn good.

Sad: MPAA Kills Anti-Pretexting Bill. True: (the false idol of) Lego Programming. Cool: Garbage Truck converted into very nice RV.
