Things are going well. The San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Pride Parade is this weekend, and I plan to attend. [As it turned out I didn't go.] I missed it last year and it sounds pretty darn interesting. There certainly are a heck of a lot of people in the Castro this week... not surprising, but I didn't expect this many people to arrive so far ahead of time. Apparently there are no hotels available anywhere nearby. Work is going well too. I was recently appointed Office Technology Captain, which means that I am responsible for leading the office technology community, helping with business development, etc. I'm excited about the opportunity to make stuff better. On my current project, we just finished 10 weeks of vendor research and made a recommendation, so I'll be doing a prototype soon to see how well it all fits together. I'm very psyched to get my hands dirty and build something again... it's been a while; I've been doing a lot of leading and not too much coding over the past few months. Shawn and Ray (friends from my WestLake days) sold their company, MsgTo.com, to AllAdvantage and have moved to the west coast from their previous homes in Bethesda. They live in San Mateo now, very close to where Kim and I lived until we moved into SF this past March. On Tuesday night Kim and I went to dinner with Shawn and his girlfriend Jeremy, whom Kim and I had never met before. We ate at Julie's Supper Club, which was okay, but not great. FuckedCompany.com has some interesting things to say about AllAdvantage. Perhaps the technology they bought as part of the MsgTo acquisition will turn AllAdvantage around? |
