Kim's mother is visiting us this week. Her sister and sister's boyfriend will be visiting in a couple of months, and my parents will be visiting as well. Why travel when we live in such a great city, and everybody is coming to visit us?
I bought a ton of stuff at the DoveBid Dot-Com Exchange II auction last week (which is the auction featuring all the stuff being liquidated from the now-closed Viant SF and Mountain View offices), and Adam helped me move it all to a secure storage facility. I picked up an Apple Cinema Display and it's the nicest display I've ever seen. I'm not keeping it... I'm just testing it before I sell it... yeah, that's the ticket.
It was really hot in San Jose yesterday, and in San Francisco the temperature reached 101 degrees - the hottest since 1914. There was no fog anywhere to be seen, which is really unusual. Driving up 280 near Daly City was really strange without the fog crawling over the mountains to the west. It was nice to be able to see so clearly, though.
Pop-up browser ad windows are really really lame. I *always* close them without looking at the content... and I bet everybody else does too. They can't work for advertisers, so when will they get a clue and stop using them?

What a stunningly gorgeous day it is outside. I know because I went to the dentist to get two fillings. If I remember correctly, she needed to use eight injections of lidocaine(sp?) to get me numb enough to drill. Last time she needed several (three?) and when I got a root canal recently I also needed a bunch of injections to get numb. I'm starting to get the idea that I'm resistant to this stuff :) She also said it would probably take about 6 hours for the numbness to go away but actually it only took about an hour and a half.

It looks like the Yahoo Messenger server is down. I'm sure we'll read about this in a zillion stories tomorrow, unless it's just a problem I'm experiencing... but I don't think it is.
